Have you heard of tiny Melinda Mae,
Who ate a monstrous whale?
She thought she could,
She said she would,
So she started in right at the tail.
And everyone said, "You're much too small,"
But that didn't bother Melinda at all.
She took little bites and she chewed very slow,
Just like a good girl should...
...And in eighty-nine years she ate that whale
Because she said she would!I was listening to a podcast while I watered my plants today, and I had to laugh out loud when the podcaster said (in regards to an organizing-her-life tip),
"I think this is a great idea; something I could really use because
I have so many of those tasks on my list that I don't even
think of them as tasks. I just think of them as
things that never will happen!"
There are a number of things on my to-do list which feel like they are never going to get done. They feel like a whale. I'm not sure how to find the time to address them, along with the other every day and immediate demands in my life. The only answer is to summon my Melinda Mae and keep on chewing.
