Raspberries

I have always wanted to grow raspberries.  I have great memories of picking raspberries from the gardens of my Grandpa Palmer and my Grandpa Springer. Every summer we buy a flat of raspberries from one of the berry stands and the kids and I stand in the kitchen and eat them, one after another.  I have never actually made raspberry jam, even though it would be delicious, because it seems like a waste of fresh raspberries. There are few things as delectable as fresh raspberries in the summer.

Lucky for us, raspberries grow well here in the Pacific NW. Tomatoes, not so much.  But berries are awesome.  This year we finally planted a row of raspberries, and we can't wait for them to ripen!
