I thought this was very inspirational . . . at the funeral there were tables with memorabilia. These paper bags were on one table, with this explanation: each morning for many years Brent got up to pack each of his kids a school lunch. Then he would write a quote, joke, or message on a piece of paper and tape it to the bag. The notes above are ones that the kids have saved. Reportedly he wrote this thought shortly after being diagnosed with cancer (just after Thanksgiving):
"Happy is the heart that can amid chaos quietly call and hear the whisper of eternity, 'all is well.' "
It has been a privilege to know Brent, and our hearts go out to his family.
Another wonderful man, Joe Massey, from our ward in Utah, just passed away. He was only 35 years old and he died waiting for a liver transplant. Our thoughts and prayers have been with Joe's wife and four kids.

I'm sorry to hear this! I thought Brent was awesome and often wondered what was happening with some of Dan's friends from growing up.
This is so sad.
I can't believe it. He was my favorite friend of Dan's.
