Christmas 2012

I'm kind of in the mood to think about New Year things, not holiday happenings, but I still have a lot of catching up to do for our family records, so here it goes. Christmas morning 2012:

The kids on Christmas morning, waiting to come downstairs.  They had slept in the bonus room together and then awakened really early. They weren't allowed to wake us until 7 a.m., so they talked and watched movies for awhile.  Then they gathered at the top of the stairs to wait while we checked to see if Santa had arrived. Once we gave the go-ahead they came down, youngest to oldest.

 

Joseph reading his letter from Santa and checking out his DS.  He also received Lego sets, a car/track set, a book about baptism, a Skylander video game.

 

 Aubrey excited about her new scriptures, scripture bag, and Hunger Games calendar.  She also received new boots and clothes, makeup, some accessories for the mini ipad she saved up to buy herself, and some books with Broadway audition solos.

Bailey amazed that Santa knew exactly what she wanted from Forever 21 and thrilled with her calendar featuring her 1D cuties.  She also received a new straightener, makeup, hair styling supplies, and lots of books.

We spent the rest of the day doing . . . . nothing really.  It was perfect.  We ate chocolate and oranges (and crepes for breakfast and leftover Cafe Rio for lunch and dinner).  We never changed out of our pjs. We played lots of games, including a 5 HOUR MONOPOLY GAME.  I had to put that in all caps to emphasize how long and arduous that was.  I don't dislike Monopoly, but that game is way too long.  Aubrey and Dan were into it for the full five hours, but Bailey, Joseph, and I were not. We did all enjoy playing our new Clue game later on.  We read our new books and listened to music and watched Christmas shows we had recorded.

 

Perfect, just perfect.
